The BGA dove deep into the financial and property records of Lyons Mayor Chris Getty, who bought a house built by one of his donors who purchased from the land from the village at a loss.
Getty, the son of the former town boss who went to prison, has built a formidable political machine in the southwestern suburb amid claims of cozy deals and nepotism.
In September, the FBI raided Lyons Village Hall, Getty’s insurance business, McCook Village Hall and the headquarters of the Lyons quarry operator as part of an ongoing corruption investigation.
The BGA sued the village after officials refused to release a copy of the FBI search warrant.
